This is not sufficient information for anyone to make any financial transactions on your accounts. It is only enough to identify your account to your bank for Stop247 to request the stop request. Yes! Stop247 will work globally providing you have access to a cell phone network or internet connection or telephone access. Stop247 is a highly valuable protection service for those who travel, because stopping your accounts when abroad on the road without Stop247 is extremely difficult.

No Risk. In the case that someone is able to steal your Stop247 log-in details, they would be able to do no more than stop your accounts, in which case you would be notified immediately and recognise that your account had been compromised. By stealing your Stop247 log-in details; there is nothing criminals can gain and no real harm that they could cause to you other than an inconvenience. Should you find that your Stop247 login details have been compromised please contact us immediately to avoid any inconvenience.

No. Stop247 can only go as far as beginning the process for you depending on your banking institution. You will still be required to go to your branch to collect your replacement cards.

Stop247 operates with your permission by authorising us via read mandate here while signing up for our service. This is a simple document which once electronically accepted, authorises us to communicate with your financial institutions on your behalf. Stop247 would only be authorised to act on any client’s behalf on receiving an emergency request from a client or one of the client’s emergency contacts.

Yes, Stop247 uses the industry leading Thawte encrypted connection protocols to secure all data we hold. The limited data that we require from you is housed in these secure and dedicated servers. Read more about our security measures here.

Getting started takes less than 5 minutes. The entire process is fully dependant on each individual client. Everyone is different & has his or her own personal profile. We require only partial account numbers from you, and a few emergency contacts. Once you have added these, and your information has been verified, your accounts will be active on our server!

Yes! If your institution is not available in the drop down menu, you will be able to request to add a new institution. Stop247 is connected to over 100 financial institutions worldwide and  is growing. This takes 24 hours to update once we have received the request from you. Just select the option to request new financial institution to your portfolio & follow instructions. Stop247 will then automatically add this to your profile and email you when we have this functionality or institution added.

A card stop takes on average 2-5 minutes to be verified and implemented once you have initiated a stop request. We will send you both e-mail and SMS notifications to update you on the progress of the cancellation request. Should you not be using your phone to initiate the stop process, Stop247 will notify you on the phone that you are using as well as update you via e-mail.

Yes, you can use any internet connection, should it be a computer or internet enabled cell phone via our quick assist function. Should you not have access to the internet you can access your profile via USSD for any Cell phone.

Stop247 is not an insurance company, we are a service. In an emergency Stop247 will provide you with a cash amount that you can withdraw from any ATM without the need of a card. This will need to be repaid to Stop247 within 72 hours. The Emergency Cash Fund is limited to R500.00.  Please refer to Terms & Conditions regarding the rules for the Emergency Fund?

Stop247 will then provide you with an option to utilise the Service.
